| Ok,
so here's the page all about the wonder of Clayos and its inhabitants.
So lets start at the beginning.
ME A long time ago, in 2002, when I was still in primary school, me and Se7ven (link) had to do a presentation in PowerPoint. It was then that we realised, "OH MY GOD! YOU CAN MAKE PEOPLE GET RUN OVER IN IT!". This day started many many visits to the computer room and the wonders of PowerPoint and many long nights of making pointless films on a variety of subjects, from a very early concept of conTRAPtions to the later films about a bald guy with glasses called "Da Mole", who was a character we worshipped and developed into a very confusing story that only me and Se7ven understood, with things such as the Ninja Mole Comic Book. We would just blurt out in peoples faces "NAUGHTY MOLE! IN THIS SCHOOL, WE DO NOT CHOP OTHER PEOPLES HEADS OFF" and over 9000 other phrases that had been created over the years. Anyway, I'm getting a bit side tracked. By this time, we were claiming to be experts (pfft) in the powerpoint animation field, and it was then that we discovered something that would change our lives forever... It was in 2004 that we discovered a website that we all know and love, Newgrounds.com. And just after watching our first flash cartoons, (likely to be by David Firth of fat-pie.com) we were immediately sucked in. We looked at a variety of animation techniques and began to duplicate them, but PowerPoint was no where near enough to do it. It was time to leave the program that had brought us into animation and seek out the ultimate, Flash. However, before Flash, we were more into clay animation (see the animator Knox), and in 2006, my school had its yearly "Artsweek" event, which I was chosen for. This was the last push I needed to choose animation. After a long week of working at a film with my friend Paul, my first film, Zombie Protection Guide was born. This got me into clay animation and I made a lot of short, messy claymations, before creating the red claymen. This is when I started my first website, which is linked here. At the time I was called "The Pestilence Project" which is still my account name on Newgrounds. After some hard work at clay animation, I got Macromedia Flash MX 2004, which was a tricky program to master compared to PowerPoint days, but after a lot of hard work and countless practice films, I finally cobbled together a short film called Merihem and changed my alias to KrEid. This film however, was blammed from Newgrounds for being terrible, which I now agree with. Back to the drawing board. After about a month, I gave it another shot with Metal Gear Stupid, which got through (however much i may hate it now)! After a few years of practice I finally managed to get some noticable work out, more recently "Blood!" and the beginning and ground work for the upcoming "Flintlock" animations. In 2009 I also won a competition across schools all over the UK titled Animation09 (link) and won first place in the 16+ league with the anime toon "Homework Dash", I'll be entering this year too, so hopefully I'll be just as successful! |
